About Vepler
Vepler is an AI-native data company building a living model of the UK built environment. Every address in Britain sits at the intersection of ownership, planning, energy performance, environmental risk and area economics. That picture does not exist in any single source, so we build it: more than 40 million properties, linked and served through one API.
What makes us different is how the data is made. We run our own GPU inference fleet, which has processed close to 500 billion tokens turning unstructured public records into verified, source-cited facts. Agentic pipelines keep coverage growing across roughly 400 planning authorities, and nothing ships without being measured against hand-curated gold sets. The result is datasets that exist nowhere else, live in production with paying customers across energy, compliance and property technology.
The role
You will be our first dedicated commercial hire, working directly with the founders and owning the revenue number. This is not a seat on an existing sales team. You will define the ideal customer profile, build the pipeline, run the deals and write the playbook that future hires inherit.
The buyers are product and data teams building on UK property data, replacing a patchwork of fragmented providers with one platform. Deals are annual API licence agreements, and the sales motion is consultative and largely written. You will never sell alone: technical pre-sales support from the founding team is part of every engagement.

What you will do
- Build and own a qualified pipeline across energy, compliance, property technology and data reselling
- Run the full deal cycle: discovery, product demonstrations, proposals and commercial negotiation
- Close annual API licence agreements and grow existing accounts through renewals and expansion
- Shape pricing, packaging and positioning with the founders, bringing customer and market evidence to those decisions
- Document what works into a repeatable sales playbook, laying the foundations for the commercial team you may go on to lead
What we are looking for
- Five or more years selling data products, APIs or technical SaaS in the UK, with evidence of owning and hitting a number
- Comfort selling to technical buyers such as product managers, heads of data and engineers, with credibility in those conversations
- Experience in an early-stage business, or a clear appetite for the ambiguity of being the first commercial hire
- Excellent written communication; much of our sales process happens in writing
- A network across property, energy or infrastructure is a strong plus, not a requirement
Compensation and benefits
- A competitive base salary, negotiated individually around your experience
- On-target earnings of roughly double base salary, uncapped, with a guaranteed commission ramp while you build pipeline
- A meaningful equity package through EMI options, vesting over four years with a one-year cliff

How we hire
Four stages, typically completed within two weeks. You will get a decision and honest feedback at every stage, and we are happy to flex the process around your circumstances.
- Introductory call (30 minutes): mutual fit, your background and what you want from your next move
- Deep dive (90 minutes, video): the market, the platform and how you would approach selling it
- Working session (half day, paid at a day rate): work a real prospect list with the founders. As close to the actual job as an interview can get
- Offer: a written offer within two working days of the final stage
